Our therapists are all bound by confidentiality laws and professional standards of practice. All staff at Blue Rabbit are required to obtain written consent from you before disclosing information about your participation in therapy. The limits of confidentiality in therapy are standard across the profession and shared with you during the intake process.

At Blue Rabbit, we encourage clients to use their instincts while selecting a therapist from the staff directory on our website. Free consultations are available so that you can meet with those who you feel might be a good fit; this allows you to assess the relationship for mutual connectedness. In our model, we work together in a circle of care, meaning that no one will be offended if you aren’t quite feeling the vibe – it’s OK! You are always welcome to try another therapist on the team.

How often you should see your therapist depends on your unique preferences and goals. Some clients may require weekly visits, while others may find that meeting once a month is enough to meet their needs. Your therapist will work with you during the intake process to identify the best frequency for you, and your needs can be continuously reassessed throughout the therapeutic process.

Therapy is all about you. So if you find that your current therapist just isn’t the right fit, or if your need for therapy has changed, that’s okay. You are able to switch therapists or cancel your services with Blue Rabbit at any time.

It’s totally okay – and normal – to feel worried or anxious about starting therapy, especially if it’s your first time. Maybe you’re nervous because you know that therapy involves a lot of vulnerability and honesty and that it can be uncomfortable at times. Or maybe you’re concerned about being judged or shamed by others for starting therapy, or lingering stigma around mental health is holding you back. Whatever the case is, the best thing to do is to be honest with yourself about your feelings and discuss your concerns openly with your therapist. Our therapists know how scary and stressful it can be to start therapy, and they are here to help support you through those feelings. Our therapists can help address your concerns and make you feel more comfortable about your work together. All of your questions and comments are welcome in our sessions, and sharing your feelings about therapy can be a great starting point for your new therapeutic relationship.
